"Mimi"
Oil Pastel on watercolour paper |
I call her Mimi, but actually I should have spelt it Me - Me. Yes folks, this is a jokey version of me! I took a photograph of myself while making a very silly face in the mirror - 'gurning'. I don't know whether the word 'gurning' is known outside of the UK, but Chambers dictionary defines the term 'gurning' as meaning making a grotesque face. There are even gurning competitions in this country.
And no, I am NOT going to show you my actual photograph.
Dev tactfully (or for his own bodily safety) insisted it didn't look a bit like me, and that I was much prettier. He said it makes him laugh. Well, it's on the easel, and it makes me laugh too every time I pass it.
I love it! Valerie
