I've been too scared to ask him what his name is by Jez |
Yesterday my eye caught sight of the discarded page sitting in the bin, not even folded or creased, and I thought 'that should be an interesting background for a face'.
I picked up a Pitt brush pen and drew this scary face without thinking what I was going to do. What dark recesses of my mind did that chappie emerge from! Well, not very nice, but I'd definitely say interesting. Frame added on Photoshop.
Still it's certainly a different approach for the 29 FACES challenge, so I'm pleased with it, even if I don't want to go on a date with him.
This is really beautiful! I love The idea and the making with newspaper paper. Hugs

The thriftiness in me likes that you have created two (very different) things from one piece - good rescuing from the bin Jez. My eldest has just discovered Charmed on Netflix so she is working her way through the entire series... I have demons in the back of my mind constantly as that is all I hear at the moment :) So this face reminds me of a demon or a bad warlock maybe! Especially with his aura of red! Very cool!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! A little scary, but maybe he is just misunderstood? Great piece! I love it....
ReplyDeleteScary but cool! I always like interesting and odd faces so this makes a nice change from all the pretty girls most of us do! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like it, and thank goodness you brought out his real personally before any of us even considered a date with him. LOL Maybe you have a knack for seeing the inner person.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness very scary!! As you know im a great fan of using newsprint and book pages in my work so I really like what you have done here Jez :)
ReplyDeleteNot kidding my stomach fell when I saw this guy! Not surprising this guy appeared at juncture. At least you're getting it out onto the page...imagine this living inside...lol Good job....very Halloweeny.... however, a little surprising...

Love your drawing on top of that collage. And the face … she is fierce! Love it!
ReplyDeleteScary but fantastic!
ReplyDeleteoh scary wonderful! :D What a wonderful character!
ReplyDeleteLove that background Jez! Funny how sometimes things flow out of our pens without us realizing where it came from. And yet afterwards you often find an explanation for what it stands for. It's definitely a unique face.
ReplyDeleteI think this is so neat! It reminds me of a Kabuki mask! There should be gongs sounding when you look at it! I haven't been able to keep up with everybody's work (because of stupid full time job...it's a good thing it enables me to buy art supplies, because otherwise we would part ways...), so I'm looking back at all of your posts for the week, and I think this one is my favorite! ...although the machine stitched face is AMAZING too and so CREATIVE!!! I'm sitting here looking at my sewing machine debating with myself about threading the bobbin so I can try your idea! My bobbins are a pain to wind and change out as well...they should really make that easier...In defense of my sewing machine, I used to be good at it...I've just been doing more art and I've gotten out of practice...but your stitched face makes me want to get back into shape bobbin-wise! <3
