BRIGHTEN UP MY EVENINGS - A.P.R. CHALLENGE

I've just joined The Artist's Play Room and the current challenge is Bright Colour.

Here's my take on the the topic:

"Brighten Up My Evenings"

In a busy week I thought I would take the quick and easy option and just use my wax 'paints'.

The title jumped to mind simply because the colours were so rich and vibrant, that they are just what I need in the evening sky to banish thoughts of the miserable rain, snow and wind that seem to be our permanent weather just now.

OK, so it's very ordinary otherwise, but it made me happy just to look at it, so I share it with you.  I hope some of you are having colourful sunsets.

  1. "very ordinary"?? far from it, this is lovely! just my colours. I've always liked the look of encaustic, is it difficult?

    1. Encaustic Art .... No it's not difficult. We saw Michael Bossom demonstrating it in Birmingham years ago, must be somewhere in the late 1980s and were really taken with it, and bought a set, now duplicated.
Basics very simple, and people love it when they receive a card and always say so.
I really like doing abstracts now, and combining with collage. Great fun and relaxing.

  6. Gorgeous Jez - love the warm colours in this. It's amazing what you can do with hot wax and an iron isn't it?...it gives immediate effect I feel. Would love to see some samples of your encaustic art with collage x
