Pitt Pen and Inktense Pencils - Jez Eden |
This was one of those drawings where I didn't know what I was going to do when I started. I liked the idea of doing doodly waves crashing on the rocks, and it grew upwards bit by bit from there. The grey sky spaces asked for something to be written there, so I made up this little poem about the lighthouse:
THE LIGHTHOUSE
How many lives I've saved I cannot say,
From rocks and reefs along the way.
Who needed me I do not care:-
Enough to know that I was there.
Linking to Sunday Postcard Art,
Fabulous...wonderful artwork and a beautiful meaningful poem what a gifted lady you are keep up the great work Jez.

ReplyDeleteLovely drawing and such a good poem to match it. I like the crashing doodly waves and is it snowing in that grey sky?
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cheery and bright, and the poem goes wonderfully well with it!
ReplyDeleteReally nice Jez, I love your painting, and your lighthouse is so cute with amazing waves. And...beautiful poem!
ReplyDeleteThere is something very enticing about lighthouses, I would love to live in one, although the practicality of all those stairs would probably be a nuisance. still i can still dream the romantic vision :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a charming little scene! I always enjoy when you combine you're beautiful poetry with your illustrations too. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI just love this one. The poem especially but also the style of drawing, those waves. Just lovely.
