THE MASK OF HORRO Marker Pens - by Jez |
This is another personal challenge for me, and you may wonder why. It's a simple enough drawing, coloured with Berol marker pens. Well, if you are a frequent visitor you will have realised by now that I like to set my drawings against a white background. They please me that way, and I feel the sketch is the main focus.
So the personal challenge today within the 29 Faces challenge, was to make myself draw a surrounding border with the markers for The Mask of Horro even though I liked it against the white page.
I have to admit that having completed it I like the feel of movement and energy it gives. It's a pity I didn't take a photo of it without the background so that I could compare..

I've just had a little look at your past posts and all of your faces are wonderful Jez - so different. Especially this masked one, so colourful. It's good to get out of your comfort zone now and again I think x
ReplyDeleteWow Jez, your faces are great. I especially love the goose.
ReplyDeleteI think the border looks great - fantastic work!
ReplyDeleteTerrific results Jez. Annette x
ReplyDeleteI'm catching up with some of the participants in 29Faces and just had a peek at all your faces. Wow! What a wonderful and diverse grouping you have. I love the creativity you put into this colorful mask face.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful face Jez and I really like the vibrant background, I smile when I read of your love of a white background, I fear white and if I see any white on my work hurriedly cover it up! I think you have made me question why, perhaps I need to do a white background sketch and face my fears. ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is vibrant Jez! It reminded of Africa!
ReplyDeleteLove your mask and colors! Vibrant, alive and magical!
ReplyDeleteI really like what you've done with the background. it works together well with the mask face and doesn't overwhelm.
