This is my response to the challenge, a 'blorange' love affair:
This was a combination of digital and Pitt Artist's pen. Sadly, the scan has not reproduced the bright colours well, but that's the way it goes some days.
I always enjoy the striking combination of these complementary colours, blue and orange, so it was no struggle to use them. After all, they do belong together.
What was more of a struggle was deciding what my image should be, and when the flash of inspiration came I wanted to combine digital with drawing.
Quite pleased with the result, and my little lovebirds - Belinda and Bertram - can live happily ever after in their bright blorange birdland.
I like the contrast!

ReplyDeleteBelinda and Bertrand are fantastic! what a lovely way to combine the colours. They look very vibrant even though you say the scan has not reproduced the colour so well. I am not used to using such contrasting colours so I admire greatly people who can do it so easily!! Brilliant Jez. :)

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Jez, I get a bit of a vintage feel from this, like it could be an old postcard. The colours are striking and work together really well. Belinda is so pretty too! x

Wow! The colors worked wonderful! And that little red in the bird's beak makes it perfect! It's awesome how you have created that artwork from "BLORANGE"!

ReplyDeleteBelinda and Bertram are so sweet, love those knees. I have the same trouble with orange and blue in my scanner, it drives me crazy as they never come out bright. I've tried playing with the colour balance but nothing seems to work.
